New Record: Speed Boat Sets 178 Mile Mark Famed racing boat Slo-mo-shun fourth (Slo-mo-shun IV) roars across Lake Washington to set a new all-time speed record. More honors for the world's fastest boat. CU pilot Stanley Sayres. He and one of the designers climb aboard. Speedboat does its thing, paced by a seaplane (!) flying right near it, just off the water. It makes another run without the seaplane.

[Cheers.] "Our aims - the aims of this Republican crusade - are clear: to sweep from office an administration which has fastened on every one of us the wastefulness, the arrogance and corruption in high places, the heavy burdens and the anxieties which are the bitter fruit of a party too long in power." [Tough words about his former Commander in Chief! More cheers from audience.] "To achieve these aims, we must have total victory. We must have more Republicans in our state and local offices, more Republican governments in our states, a Republican majority in the United States House of Representatives and in the United States Senate, and of course, a Republican in the White House." [The crowd goes wild.] An exuberant Richard Nixon grabs Eisenhower's lifted arm and waves it for him; Ike allows this; Mamie, also on the podium, smiles.

Kiddie Korner Kiddie driving school in Vancouver, B.C., Canada. Little kids drive tike-sized cars around test-area. Littlle girl (spectator) gets bumped by car driven by another little girl. Police Officer pulls over another little girl driver - she looks frantically for her licence in her purse, emptying its contents. In Paris, a baby who takes after his strong-man father, he hangs on to the rings just like daddy. He's only 7 months old. Cute shots of baby lying on table while grown-up hands give him a massage (not sure the little guy likes it!). Dad (in Speedo-like garb) helps smiling baby practice walking. Little baby hangs onto a pair of rings, like a gymnast would; dad swings him and he grins. Unusual baby tricks. Father balances baby with one hand.

To eradicate it at home, we must continue the fight to eliminate the economic injustice, social intolerance, and racial bigotry on which Communism breeds. The containment of that menace abroad and its eradication at home is the only road to peace, the only means of preventing World War III (World War Three, World War 3), the only way to meet the challenge of our times. The Democratic Party alone can meet that challenge. During the next four years, America needs a Democratic president, loyal to the principles and policies, both foreign and domestic, of the New Deal of Franklin D. "The Norwegian freighter Black Gull bound for New York becomes a torch as 500 tons of naptholene catch fire and transform the vessel into an inferno 65 miles off Long Island. Forty five passengers and crewmen are rescued but four perish as they leap into the sea to escape the searing flames." Aerial shots of smoldering ship, one shot of land (Long Island?). The ship is in terrible condition.
