Sea Tragedy: Four Die As Freighter Becomes Flaming Torch. "The Norwegian freighter Black Gull bound for New York becomes a torch as 500 tons of naptholene catch fire and transform the vessel into an inferno 65 miles off Long Island. Forty five passengers and crewmen are rescued but four perish as they leap into the sea to escape the searing flames." Aerial shots of smoldering ship, one shot of land (Long Island?). The ship is in terrible condition.
