There they inspect the huge, complex twin assembly lines where the giant Redstone and Jupiter missiles are turned out. Men, many in military uniform, walk through giant warehouse-type building and look at the missiles.

Bowling star Lou Campi finds it tougher than his special pursuit. Three men and one women set up the skittles. Lou Campi - in a shirt with his name on it - tosses the cheese. The woman takes a turn. Curious spectators look on.

Motocross That is the name for cross country motorcycle racing. The season opens in Holland, and is an international contest. The Belgian challengers and the Dutch daredevils set the pace. A slam-bang race on the 2 1/2 mile track with thousands of enthusiasts rooting these stamina boys onward. Scenes from the race. Motorcycles frequently bounce up into the air. Spectators wave their arms to urge on the racers. Man (winner?) takes a swig from a bottle.

Eisenhower, Mr. Dulles, Britain's Prime Minister Harold Macmillan and Foreign Secretary Selwyn Lloyd results in a formula for meeting the Soviet demands on agenda and representation at the foreign ministers' meeting -- which will probably begin around May 11, to be followed by a summit conference. Sign, "National Naval Medical Center." Four men (the 4 listed above?) gather in a room, sit and talk. One man (Dulles?) points to a painting hanging on the wall, VO says it's a painting of Winston Churchill by Eisenhower (?).

Eisenhower Greets King Of Jordan King Hussein is greeted by the President at the White House where the youthful monarch, wearing the uniform of field marshal, was guest of honor at a luncheon. Hussein shakes hands, smiles at camera, passes a few photographers. Ike greets the King with a handshake. The two leaders chat and smile probably for benefit of the cameras.

MCUS - A young man approaches two policemen shows them his ID-Card and he is allowed to go through the devastated area. MLS - A dress shop that was completely dmolished, and the owner was killed MCUS - Policeman walks through rubble from store. Damaged car. MCUS - Mailman takes mail out from street mailbox as citizens try to get their lives back to normal. MLS - Shop owners clearing out damaged merchandise from shop windows.

Various stories from 25 years ago. Deep in the heart of taxis...A cab drivers' strike is the answer to taxing taxi rides in New York. It was a turbulent episode - climaxed by a mass meeting outside City Hall. Men in the crowd hold up newspapers with headlines about the strike. Blooper - men are standing on and among cars parked in a lot, one man slips off as he waves to the camera. Signs in crowd include "We Want Recognition of the Union." F.D.R. addressed 4,000 representatives of industry. He called for more jobs. Higher wages. Franklin Delano Roosevelt speaks at podium. Large seated audience. Globe-trotting Mrs. F.D.R. (Eleanor Roosevelt) finishes one of her famous junkets - Puerto Rico at that moment - to hurry back to Washington to observe her wedding anniversary. Propeller seaplane is pulled into dock. Smiling Mrs. Roosevelt deplanes. A new type airplane appears on the scene. The inventor had a most novel notion. He designed the plane with a circular wing....Shadows of the flying saucer. Unusual aircraft lands. Invention. Aviation. The bogey-men, Boris and Bela - heroes of horror to lovers of the macabre and gruesome. Karloff and Lugosi - of the weirdly-eerie portrayals presided over a cat show. Black cat show - naturally. Children carry their black cats. One black cat seems to be hissing or meowing angrily. Reckless and defiant in the face of adversity, members of Chicago's Union League Club papered the dining room walls of the club with worthless stocks and securities rendered valueless by the stock market crash. Expensive and lamentable wallpaper - and not exactly conducive to good digestion in this dining room. Men in work clothes put certificates neatly on the wall. Men in business suits examine the wall and laugh. Great Depression.

Oxo, 8-1, wins Grand National An 8-year-old English gelding, Oxo, outran and outjumped thirty-three rivals and won Britain's Grand National steeplechase. He was an 8-1 shot. And one of the four horses to survive the thirty jumps of the world's toughest horse-racing course. The purse: $38,208. Jockey: Mike Scudamore - 153 pounds. Horses before race. Spectators with binoculars throughout. Race begins. Horses racing, with cameraman mounted atop moving vehicle in the background. Much more interesting angles than generally used -- one view from inside or near a jump shows horses jumping and falling close to camera. Winner finishes. Spills, bloopers, dangerous falls.

He said that Nikita S. Khrushchev could not force him by 'bluff' or 'blackmail' to attend unless there were grounds for believing that 'real measures can be discussed profitably by all of us'. Performed by the mayor of the town where the circus was appearing. The ceremony - a unique and lofty affair - with bride and groom perched on the tightrope. The mayor no doubt had some shaky moments even though on terra firma. Bride, in typical gown, and groom climb ladders, walk high wire (holding poles to balance them) and meet in the middle. Crowd looks up at them. Groom slips ring on her finger, kisses her on both cheeks (probably staged, on the ground).

T.N.T. It's The Tiny Torpedoes Annapolis, Maryland At the pee-wee boxing bouts at Annapolis, MD. The off-spring of navy families enter the squared circle swinging. They take swipes with gusto and oversized gloves. Something to see, these twinkling starlets bursting with sporting blood and enthusiasm. A performance of real promise. Very little boys, aged maybe 4 or 5 years, box; a few photographers among the spectators. Referee is gentle, helping them back up, etc. Good-natured handshake with boxing gloves at the end. Cute.

Tibetan Revolt "At Lhasa, Tibetan capital, uprisings against Chinese communist rule. Shooting started after followers of the Dalai Lama, who is a symbol of national unity as well as the spiritual leader of the Tibetans, had staged a number of anti-Chinese demonstrations in the streets and squares of the ancient capital. Dalai Lama's whereabouts are unknown. He's said to be injured but still leading rebel forces in the south. Red China, by decree, has stripped him of political power. Replacing him with his rival the Panchen Lama. The Tibetan revolt is evidence that anti-communist fighters in Asia are acting in unison with the Chinese nationalists to end communist domination of the China mainland." Scenes show both Buddhist leaders in Peiping on pilgrimage to holy places. Excited happy crowds watch the two, clap. People visiting shrines. Tibetan monks (?) - young men with shaved heads and robes - operate newsreel or motion picture cameras.

Alleluia! Easter in Old World and New A day of rejoicing around the world. St. Patrick's Cathedral, New York City, is the focal point for faith and fashion finery on parade. Wow - overhead shot looking down at cathedral and people like ants milling about. Worshippers exit the church. At Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, President and Mrs. Eisenhower attend Easter services. Ike and family exit and pose informally. The annual sunrise service at Hollywood Bowl marks the occasion with traditional splendor and beauty. Crowd in outdoor amphitheatre. Church choir forming shape of a cross. At St. Peter's Basilica, Rome, Pope John XXIII imparts his first Easter blessing as pontiff to a crowd of 30,000 in addition to 100,000 who filled St. Peter's Square, many with umbrellas. Two women cross themselves.

Jet Take-off At Nevada testing ground. The U.S. Air Force shows a new rocket launching technique. Taking off from a truck-borne platform (but the truck is standing still) the rocket hurtles a super-sabre jet aloft from a standing start, reaching 300 M.P.H. in 4 seconds. Cockpit hatch closes. Jet is raised so that it's at a tilt. Part of platform underneath landing gear says "world's shortest runway". Jet takes off; the rocket (?) that was used to power its takeoff falls away. Plane does a barrel roll.

A-Bomb Test: Eniwetok Blast Shows Devastation of Area Films just released by the Defense Dept. show the awful effect of an atom-bomb blast upon all types of buildings. Right before your eyes, the terrific force of the bomb crumbles concrete structures and whips other buildings into rubble. A terrible lesson for the world. Aerials of Eniwetok atoll. Various shots of buildings that will soon be destroyed. Shirtless men (soldiers?) make ready old tanks and pieces of airplanes. Men in control room talk on headsets, examine control panel. Nuclear explosion; various shots show some of the buildings being partially destroyed (but with such dramatic music on the soundtrack, I'd think they should be blown to smithereens!).

Ike Returns: President Welcomes General at Capital. Ranking army brass and dignitaries turn out to welcome General Eisenhower as he returns from his NATO command. President Truman joins the greeters as the general and Mrs. Eisenhower pay a visit to the White House. At the airport, Ike & Mamie Eisenhower descend airplane steps, shake hands in receiving line; General Dwight Eisenhower kisses his mother-in-law, Mrs. Doud. Limousine pulls up and Ike gets out, smiling. A group of press photographers take aim with their still cameras. President Harry Truman shakes hands with Ike (outdoors at White House). Then the two of them pose with General Omar Bradley, Defense Secretary Robert Lovett, and Army Secretary Frank Pace, Jr.

A Canadian brigade arrives to reinforce the garrison under General Boatner. Communist prisoners of war march around their POW camp, practice with fake guns. Canadian troops disembark from an LST (Landing Ship Tank), listen to General Boatner speak. Tanks prepare for possible use in the conflict. A small group of refugees carry their belongings and load them onto a truck.
