The Skin Game
This is an interesting homemade industrial film produced by Robert M. Altman. CU drawing of a smiling cook/chef, pulled by hand across camera. Homemade title "The Skin Game: Tragedy, Comedy, Drama in 12 Acts." List of cast follows, then a shot of the cook again; he's holding a tray of sausages. Shots follow of a variety of men coming out of a door and tipping their hats, bowing to camera. Interesting look at men's styles of the day -- from meat handlers in white smocks and straw boaters to executives in high collars and ties, and some clowning around on the sidewalk, presumably by these male employees of a local sausage or meat packing company.
Three women in fur coats stand and smile at the camera, old Model T Ford behind them, car has what looks to be curtained windows at then more men posing as before. XCU man's mouth, laughing and smiling, XCU eyes blinking and winking. Hand-written title reads "Study your Customers Requirements -- Sell the Whole Line," and then a CU shot of an invoice for the S. Oppenheimer Co., dated 1927. This is a continuation of an interesting homemade industrial film produced by Robert M. Altman. Another title says "Please get in Touch with the Sales Dept. We want to help YOU." Odd little motivational titles for sales dept. of what appears to be a sausage company/meat packing firm: simple drawings of a gold watch, dollar signs, even a bottle of Old Crow, and promises of big bonuses. Another title says best wishes for the holiday season and a good 1927, and CU pen signing name of Robert M. Altman.
