01:00:29:- Nez Perce powwow in a school gymnasium in Lapnai, IA. MS of middle aged man and woman in Perce ceremonial garb dancing in place; male holds the American flag on a staff while the woman holds a staff decorated with feathers; zoom in and out; numerous others dance in a circle around them ( also in ceremonial dress);hre is a musical accompaniment (vocal chorus, drums, jingle bells); an audience watches on, takes pictures every so often; an on site announcer speaks unintelligibly through a PA system; there are 25-45 participants in the powwow (including one middle aged white guy obviously not of herital decent); lots of feathers and bright, decorative, festive colors on the ceremonial outfits; several small children participate as well; all participants have numbered tags on their shoulders; CU's of faces. 01:09:37:- more powwow footage, after the dancing has stopped; LS of a drum circle (5 men playing one animal skinned drum and singing ) along a yellow wall; zoom in for a few CU's of their faces; ECU of the drum being hit. 01:12:06:- EXT. LAPNAI, IA. high angle wide LS of the valleys surrounding Lapnai; gentle rolling slopes and dark green vegetation abound; several shots of the area from same vantage point (employs tilts, pans, zooms); very peaceful topography on a beautiful sunny day; LS of 2 large birds (possibly eagles) flying over the valley (very distant shot, hard to ascertain what kind of birds they are); tight level LS of an abandoned McCormick tractor blade in a green open field. 01:23:31:- EXT. Joseph Canyon, OR.... high angle wide LS of Joseph Canyon in OR (where the Nez Perce once wintered); beautiful sunny day; lush topography (trees, hills, slopes, vegetation, mountains in BG). 01:26:13:- EXT., Lake Wallowa, OR ... level wide LS of Lake Wallowa on a bright yet overcast day; quiet but not still water, a light breeze blowing through the trees, distant mountains... very serene, picturesque, and austere; several angles and views of the lake (all LS's; employs pans, tilits, zooms); tight LS of the Chief Old Joseph monument in OR; stone pillar w/ bronze portrait-plaque; CU of plaque.
