A New Note in Music. A new tonal scale makes its bow at Mills College under the direction of Harry Partch who bases the performance of his orchestra on the Greek lyre and atomic research. Establishing shot, building at Mills College. Composer Harry Partch conducts as various female college students play unusual instruments - some of the ones listed in VO are Cloud-Chamber Bowls, a kithera (?), a diamond marimba. The musical group uses 43 tones instead of the usual 12, apparently. Various shots of the young women playing these new instruments. Very 20th century.
