World-Wide New Events - Japanese Town Burns Atami, Japan Virtually the entire business section of the city of Atami is leveled by flames which rage through the flimsy structures. Winds fanned the blaze and firefighters were unable to hold control lines around the blaze. MS of a house burning. Everything in sight is on fire the people stand by crying and in total shock watching the fire destroy. The next day the people take what belongings they can find. Some parts of Atami is still on fire the rest of the ruble is smoldering.
