Japanese Emperor's Birthday All Japan joins in wishing Emperor Hirohito a happy birthday as the monarch turns 60. The ruler makes few public appearances since Japan's defeat and the end of his 'divinity.' Emperor walks outside in garden area, solemn. Crowds gather at Palace grounds to pay homage to him. Great shots of citizens. Royal family on balcony. Hirohito waving.
