First Pictures Russia gives a wild welcome to Yuri Gagarin as he returns to Moscow after orbiting the earth. Western skepticism about the flight has no place in the ceremonies as the major is welcomed by Khrushchev and takes homage atop Lenin's tomb in red square. Gagarin exits plane, walks to podium and is greeted by Nikita. Gagarin thanks the Communist party and salutes Khrushchev, who in turns gives him a Russian bear hug and kiss. Crowds, Gagarin portrait.
