ALGERIA BALLOT - De Gaulle Triumphs in Key Referendum In France and Algeria, millions go to the polls, to vote on De Gaulle's proposals to solve the Algerian crisis. Despite massive abstentions by the right-wing opposition, and by Moslem nationalists, the votes in favor of De Gaulle's plan add to a clear majority, less than the resounding vote of confidence he sought, but sufficient to be a clear mandate in his favor. Voters in lines. Young man comes out from booth, old man drops ballot in box. De Gaulle goes into booth to vote. Photographers. De Gaulle shaking hands with gentleman.
