Border Battle: Israel, Syria in New Clash On the uneasy frontier between Israel and Syria, the largest military clash since the Sinai invasion. A series of border incidents is touched off by Israeli retaliation against shelling from a U.A.R. artillery battery in a supposedly demilitarized border zone. People on foot in funeral procession; soldiers marching (in the procession, it seems). View of barbed wire, landscape in background. Women and children walk in shallow trench or ditch; not sure what it's for, perhaps for hiding from projectiles. Men beside U.N. vehicle look through binoculars.
