Ranger Fails: Misses Moon - Orbits Sun One of the nation's most ambitious space projects, the launching of the Ranger Three to the moon has mixed results. A second stage is too strong pushing the capsule past the moon wide of its mark. Valuable data, however, is recorded by space scientist. Capsule is driven to launch site. Man looking straight up at hanger. Three men with cameras on tri-pods, look at site in distance. Newsreel cameras set up on platform. Slow-motion of launch. Rocket in flight. Animation ? of Satellite orbiting towards moon.
