News in Brief: Chicago, Midget Power Scooter. The closest yet to vest-pocket transportation is an Illinois student's 12-pound power scooter. With rollerskate wheels and a model airplane motor, it put-puts him to and from the campus at a miserly 100-miles per gallon. Man in business suit assembles motor scooter, rides on it (carrying briefcase), rounds corner past sign for Illinois Institute of Technology. Invention, unusual.
