"Later, the Soviet Premier goes to the White House for the first of several off-the-record and informal talks ranging over global problems. America and the world watch and wait as Khrushchev's show continues - colorful, dramatic, and of monumental importance." Humorous moment - Mrs. Khrushchev, Dwight Eisenhower, and Nikita Khrushchev squeeze onto one seat in the back of an open limousine. A tight squeeze. Pomp and circumstance as the motorcade slowly proceeds down streets, military in parade as well. At Blair House, the three pile out of the car and pose on steps. Then the two leaders arrive at the White House. Mr. K waves to vast numbers of photographers, journalists. Khrushchev, Eisenhower, and others pose with ... um, a thing (VO says it's a model of the Lunik). Vice-President Richard Nixon also present. Ike and Nikita smile at one another. A big moment in Cold War diplomacy.
