Le Mans Auto Classic The 1959 Le Mans auto classic, with 53 top contenders whittled down to 13 survivors by the blasting pace over a 24 hour stretch. Round the clock, the winners average a blazing 112 M.P.H., to cover all of 2,720 miles. Start of race. Various shots of cars and drivers, day and night. Race car driver's POV (subjective shot) rounding corner. Dunlop signs. Cars drive past man who waves checkered flag. Crowds, spectators. Driver (winner?) still in car drinking from bottle, man gives him pat on the back.
