Crackdown On Opium Rare scenes inside a Bangkok opium den just prior to shutdown imposed by a new government ban on opium smoking. Thousands of addicts will be treated at a new state sanatorium, in an historic effort to eliminate the costly vice. Man with paraphernalia. Man lying on floor smoking. People enter a building. Men change their clothes (?). Woman drinks a small cup of liquid. Men (and a few women) queue up to get meal, sit at tables with food. Several of these people are rather thin and look unhealthy or malnourished.
