Casper Wins U.S. Open One of golfdom's classics on the winged foot course in Westchester, New York, against such great competitors as Ben Hogan, Sam Sneed, Arnold Palmer, Mike Souchak and others, and harassed by stormy gusts sweeping the course, rotund Bill Casper wins with solid play on the fairways and superb putting on the greens. Male golfers tee off. Interested crowds watch; some spectators use periscopes for better view. Some good putts. Casper's body language seems like mild celebration. Caddy. Wind blows flag. Smiling Casper holds shiny trophy for the camera.
