'Parthia' Wins Richest Epsom Derby Derby day, and the 180th running of Britain's turf classic is in the tradition of holiday mood, colorful spectacle, and stirring sports excitement as 2 British colts, faced by strong French challengers, fight out a sensational stretch battle. Parthia, the winner, take the richest derby purse ever. Very wide shots of the downs with crowds. People sit on the grass, eat, drink. One older woman sits in unladylike fashion on the grass, smoking a cigarette. All sorts of fashions and styles represented. Queen Elizabeth II walks among three men in top hats. Horse racing scenes. Women in cute hats look on (is one of these the queen?). Winning horse after race.
