Mahdi Dead Vast throngs mourn one of the Sudan's beloved religious and political leaders. At Khartoum impressive funeral ceremonies are conducted for Sir Sayed Abdel Rahman el Mahdi, leader of the dervishes. Huge African crowds. Men wearing white and men in military uniform stand near draped body (corpse). Men carry the body. Nifty building with pointy dome (mosque?).
