Killer Tornado. 21 Dead, 7 Missing in Stricken St. Louis St. Louis Blitzed By Tornado. A tornado, the smallest yet most violent of all storms, cut a wide, destructive swath through the city of St. Louis. With a shrieking wallop it struck down lives and property in weird destruction. The smashing storm struck the same area where the worst tornado in St. Louis history, back in 1927, took a toll in excess of 100 lives. Aftermath. Damaged homes and buildings. Rubble.
