Reds Renew Quemoy Attack. After a 15-day respite, Chinese communist guns again batter Quemoy, on the eve of Secretary John Foster Dulles' Formosa visit to try and establish a stable peace in the area. Scenes show the town and beaches shortly before the barrage began. Boxes and barrels and sacks (cargo?) on beach. A very big pile of large-sized ammunition. Damaged, wrecked buildings. Small propeller airplane taxiing. Asian people, men, women, and children, gather at plane and climb aboard (cute baby on someone's back). Evacuation. Men dig long trench. Men in uniform and helmets stack sacks (sandbags?) along structure from which a large gun protrudes. Preparing for battle.
