World Mourns Pope Pius XII As the world mourns the passing of Pius XII, the camera recalls highlights of the Pontiff's reign, and of his earlier career as Eugenio Cardinal Pacelli, traveling throughout the world, as Vatican Secretary of State. Scenes show the splendor of the papal coronation, the Pope greeting U.S. G.I.s during the war, and receiving pilgrims. Pan beautiful ornate building, crowd in front of it. Clergyman on throne gets very elaborate hat placed on his head. Pope (with other religious leaders) on balcony making sign of the cross (blessing). Motorcade: Clergyman in different hat rides in black car with top down through crowds, makes sign of cross, smiles, nods. Exterior beautiful building, crowds. Interior: Many people line an aisle down which the Pope is carried in a throne-like chair, again making sign of cross. Traveling shot past Caucasian men standing. Pope speaks (natural audio) from his throne at front of room, cutaways to Caucasian (and one Asian) men. Exterior shots, Pope on throne carried past applauding and waving crowd. Procession. What looks like several mourners (women with black veils) among a crowd. Pope with a woman.
