The Whirly Bird is again in the news as the largest commercially chartered helicopters, with capacity for 15 passengers, initiates a new air service between the Mid-Manhattan Sky Port and the three airports of the New York area.. Shuttling between city airports it can carry a ton and a half in freight. For the busy traveler it is a marvelous convenience. It's amphibious for good measure. The Whirly Bird is sitting on a pier.
