In Tennessee, the air force puts a 3,000 MPH Wind tunnel, the world's biggest, into operation. Man-made gales offer key research data. The mightiest Wind Tunnel in the world goes to work for the Air Force. A massive complex invaluable research facility its huge air intakes and powerful turbines colonnade in a test section 16 feet square and 40 feet long. Through here will roar man made winds that speeds up to 3,000 MPH where altitudes and temperature can be simulated to make possible testing of full scale jet engines under actual flight conditions. Establishing shot - OH shot of the operations of the mightiest wind tunnel in the world. MCUS - Air intakes and turbines and a man sitting by one of these things taking notes. Inside shot - Air turbines, a scientific technician checking out the inside of one of the wind tunnels. MS - A "No Smoking" except in designated area, sign. MLS - Two scientific technicians standing inside a wind tunnel dwarfed by its size. MS - Operations panel, lots of dials, knobs and pressure reading gauges watched by a scientific technician. MS - Looks like a rocked, with a mass amount of wind going through the tunnel, and how this rocket cuts through the wind, and how the mass of air is moving. Real early sci-fi stuff.
