SPORTS: Track. At Compton, California, plenty of track & field thrills, and a big upset when Willie White noses out Bobby Morrow in the '100', Bob Gutowski wins the pole vault, while Australia's Merv Lincoln romps home to victory in the mile. Nighttime (?) track meet; starter fires pistol, sprinters race; after race, White and Morrow pose, looking friendly. Other events.
