News in Brief: Return From Siberia. Japan - 1,025 Japanese held by Russia since World War II return to their homeland after 11 years of captivity, the first to come home under the recent Japanese-Soviet peace treaty. Scratchy footage. Ship arrives at dock, where people holding banners wait to greet the freed prisoners of war. Japanese citizens watch urns being unloaded, holding ashes of the dead. Men leap off the ship, embrace loved ones. There are smiles and tears amid the family members.
