News in Brief: Nazi General Freed. Old and cancer-stricken, German Field Marshal Albert Kesselring is freed after seven years' imprisonment for war crimes. Kesselring lies in bed and reads stacks of mail, one letter after another (VO says the letters are congratulating him on his release). Flashback showing Kesselring in uniform with two other men, posing and smiling for the camera. Back to 1952: a nurse brings the old man some medicine, which he tosses back like a shot of something tastier. Early release.
