United States puts into New York, her home port, after the first shakedown cruise for America's newest, biggest, fastest, and most luxurious passenger liner. Vessels crowd the harbor to welcome the new Atlantic blue ribbon contender, in the biggest reception in the port's history. Sailor with back facing camera, stands on deck next to American flag waving to the S.S. United States in port. Various shots of ship coming in, greeted by fireboats spraying water.
