Big Clean-Up Marks Year's Saddest Day
Rolling light in contrast and imagery With a lingering look backward at vanished vacation days, Gotham s thousands of youngsters flock back to the big city's version of "The Little Red School House". They're in no hurry to reach school, but the final bell finds them in their places. Children getting "cleaned up", washing up, african american boy lathering up his face with soap, young girl scrubs little boys face, african-american mother straightens young boys tie as he gets dressed, young boy combing his hair, parents walking children to school. Children in single file lines outside of school, crowd of children entering school building, going to school. Interior of school as children enter classroom, students seated in classroom, teacher writing on chalkboard, young blonde girl writing with pencil. Young boy seen walking to school caring books followed by his dog, he tries to shoo him away as he enters the school building. First day of school.
