Rolling, dull in contrast and imagery: Eleanor Holm Jarrett, banned by official edict from the Olympic team before competition began, discusses the action taken against her, in a timely newsreel interview, and defends the conduct for which she was suspended. Eleanor won the 1932 Olympic gold medal in swimming, 100-meter backstroke. She developed a bit of a reputation as being a Wild character and was removed from the 1936 Olympic team for drinking champagne, but was soon in demand for show business jobs. She played Jane (1937 - Tarzan's Revenge with Glenn Morris ) as a saucy independent character and she did most of her own swimming in the picture opposite Glenn Morris, the 1936 Olympic decathlon champion., She was portrayed in Funny Lady, 1975.
