Shaky - light in contrast Two miles below the earth's surface an explosion in the Boissevain Coal Mine imprisons 50 men under a deluge of debris, as they go about their tasks. A scant dozen fight their way to freedom and direct the rescuers in the vain battle against tons of dirt and timber blocking the underground passages, and hindering the recovery of the bodies. Searchers push through subterranean channels with super-human effort as widows and children of the lost men hold endless vigil at the mouth of the shaft - hoping against hope that their loved ones may be brought to the top.
