Dull in contrast - images Defying all thoughts of danger the daredevil Briton whizzes over the measured mile at a thunderous pace, bettering his own record by 8 miles an hour. Swinging into the smooth stretch he pilots the bluebird over the course in 13.46 Seconds on one run and repeats it in 14.89 Seconds on the return trip for a total average of 253.968 Miles an hour. A great performance and a stirring episode in racing history.
