Preview Cassette # 221521 BOB ELSON's INTERVIEWS OF THE CENTURY V. Bob interviews interesting people in Chicago's Union Station as they wait to board the famous Twentieth Century Limited train bound for New York City. Needless to say (but will be said anyway) there are many great tight and wide LS's of the famed train leaving Union Station and arriving at Grand Central in New York; subjective and objective shots. Good MS's of passengers and porters boarding the train. Interviewees: American Armed Forces Brigadier General Frank Holly, who was the commanding general in Germany during the air lift. A fraught, muscular man with much venom to spew towards the Red Menace. Some great anti-Communism rhetoric. Edwin L. Baron, teacher and practioner (though not here) of hypnosis. Abbe Lane, 19 year old beauty who sings for Xavier Cugat's world-famous big band. James MacDonald, first American Ambassador to Israel. And yes, he wrote a book about the experience. Harold "Red" Grange (Red Grange), former University of Illinois football great turned professional insurance salesman. Actor/ singer/ comedian Jimmy Durante. No real interview is conducted as Mr. Durante is surrounded by autograph-seeking admirers-- including Bob Elson. Jimmy smiles and jokes and signs autographs while chomping on a cigar.
