ON PREVIEW TAPE # 991675 PERSONAL LETTER FROM RUTH (cont)July 7th, SundayWent from Vidette Meadow to Junction Pass via Center Basin. Passed four small frozen lakes, and rode to the top of a saddle back mountain. From there you climb on foot to top of Junction Pass. Many pictures going to pass of Center Basin & Pack train. (one mule, & four horses) Evening pictures of Center Basin with Center Peak as background. Mileage about 14.July 8th, Monday.Went from Vidette Meadow to East Lake. You took pictures at end of Lake. Fishing pictures at camp site plus Gayle and I washing in river. You and George went on up the trail alone for more pictures. Mileage: 6 mls.July 9th, TuesdayLeft East Lake & returned to Cedar Grove.Total mileage to end of road: 14 mls. Packed our gear, paid bill, and went by car to Gant Grove where we stayed at The Lodge ($6.00/night) in wilsonia run by the Elliott's (Gayle Whitfield's mother). Delicious food.(Hope this isn't too inaccurate.)(LAST PAGE)
