Garlic Spray Commercial
Bernie Howard TV commercial for aerosol garlic flavoring. Great kitsch, 1950s housewife in the kitchen. Good example of selling "convenience foods". CU int. kitchen, woman's hands peeling onion. Zoom out to full shot of woman in kitchen, VO: "Stop! You don't have to peel that onion!" Woman looks surprise/confused. Diss. to shot of 4 aerosol cans "Taste Tap". 4 different flavors of spray flavoring. A finger presses the nozzle on each can releasing a little cloud from each - garlic, onion, hickory and of course, meat tenderizer. CU woman with a huge loaf of bread sliced most of the way through - she holds apart each slice and sprays garlic flavor spray between the slice - (and everywhere else too) - Garlic bread!. CU huge salad bowl - woman sprays garlic flavor all over the salad. CU her hand pushing her cutting board full of onions off to the side and replacing it with a bottle of "Taste Tap Spray o' Garlic" MS woman draw her hands to her face and gleefully smells them - no odor! More shots of spraying food, soup on the stove, burgers on the grill, ridiculously huge slab of meat (steak, prime rib?) is sprayed with meat tenderizer as woman pokes it with a fork. Shot of 4 cans again.
Space Age Saw Blade Commercial
1950s TV Commercial, for a "Space Age Saw Blade Set" that has a "unique spiral design" and will cut anything but will not cut a human hand (and we see them try). VO often mentions 'space age' this and that. The packaging also says "Space Age Saw Blade Set." MS small hack saw on a peg board - zoom in to it - "The amazing new space age saw blade" CU spiral blade. CU hand as the saw blade is drawn back and forth against a man's index finger - which is left in tact. CUs of saw cutting through wood panel, dowel, ceramic tile, pad lock, a slab of frozen peas. CU saw in its packaging." Only $2.98! ..And if you order now you'll get this handy steel-grip vise!" Cu saw, blade, vise etc. with superimposed words "Money Back Guarantee" Direct marketing--call today-type of commercial.
Raid Commercial
1950s B/W Raid insecticide animated commercial--"a new discovery from Johnson Wax". Great kitsch animation of dead and dying insects. Flies, Mosquitoes, Ants, spraying Raid on roses & tomato plants. Animated insects of all sorts, in all locations of a house (a kitchen, a drawer) stand alert in fear of a RAID can - in classic superhero form with muscular arms and a square head. The RAID man takes off his cap, presses the button on his head and goes after the insects. HE sprays a cloud where the words " Flies, Mosquitoes, Roaches, Ants... all kinds of bugs indoors" appear. MS woman casually spraying RAID all over her rose bushes. CU can of RAID in her hand. She keeps spraying. Sprays tree. CU can "RAID house and garden bug killer".

LS of Sphinx followed by CUs of hieroglyphs carved into stone. Nice clean color footage. Writing, ancient Egypt.

Historical reenactment of Knight from the 1500's bringing document to king seated at table by a river, he signs it with a quill pen. Historical reenactment of Caucasian man from the 1600's with a goatee signing document.
Various Skiing Spills
Very young boy - maybe 4 or 5 years old in red hat and coat slides/falls on his skis. Cam tracks pro ski jumper as he jumps, takes flight, lands and falls. Young girl in long braids tries to ski and falls. Stunt water skier crashes into water while attempting stunt. LS another water-skier gliding easily along then falls on a turn.

Homes Being Torn Down
Color footage (2 shots) of old house being destroyed, demolished. First: wrecking ball swung at turn-of-century building or house. (not too spectacular.) Second: crane hits large old frame house with bucket (?!), house falls spectacularly to ground. Collapse, ruin.
Rams Butt Heads

Wind Tunnel Forces On Pilot
From newsreel. Brief shot of missile after launch. Good shot of test pilot's face undergoing extreme contortions during wind tunnel tests. Tests were designed to measure endurance of pilots during ejection. Brief shot of U.S. Air Force transport with propellers.
Kennedy's Man On The Moon Speech
Texas. President Kennedy vows not to fill space with weapons, but with instruments of knowledge. Vows America will be first to the moon and first in space exploration. Exploration will be for the progress of all people. Only if America leads the way, can space be explored for altruistic purposes. Peaceful cooperation in space may never come again. "We choose to go to the moon in this decade...not because they are easy, but because they are hard."
