Various baby animals in zoo setting, including camel, an orphan joey kangaroo who stays in a pouch like a mail pouch, light-haired (white?) monkey. Funny, cute, humorous behind-the-scenes moment shows newsreel cameraman looking through camera (shooting or pretending to shoot) while a curious baby monkey checks out the lens, poking his head into it, then reaching inside.

A New Note in Music. A new tonal scale makes its bow at Mills College under the direction of Harry Partch who bases the performance of his orchestra on the Greek lyre and atomic research. Composer Harry Partch conducts as various female college students play unusual instruments - some of the ones listed in VO are Cloud-Chamber Bowls, a kithera (?), a diamond marimba. The musical group uses 43 tones instead of the usual 12, apparently. Various shots of the young women playing these new instruments. Very 20th century.

Exterior shots of prison, daytime, guards at posts, etc. - some shots could pass for generic prison situation. Man (warden?) sits on steps outdoors, talking with a group of other men (reporters?). Rahway, New Jersey Exteriors of another prison, this one with some evident damage to some windows. Armed state troopers outside the facility, also on rooftop. Views through bars of convicts, prisoners, as they lean against open windows (open but the men are locked in by the bars).

The Army Ordinance Dept. shows it going through amazing aquatic operations, proving its ability to travel underwater. A snorkel tube is the secret. Vehicle knocks down a tree, drives into fairly deep water that covers even the hood (bonnet) of the vehicle; the driver wears a snorkeling-type mask and breathes from an oxygen tank. The aquatic vehicle plows into deeper water until completely submerged!, like it's a submarine jeep. Amazing, unusual. Test, demonstration.

Aquatic Acrobatics. Pretty maids, tricky barefoot skier, and spine-tingling crash dives - all are featured in the 6th Dixie Water Ski tournament. Star of the show is Toribio Durantes of Mexico, who skids along on his bare feet, and also performs amazing gyrations on pair of tiny skis. Synchronized water skiing stunts, mostly with young women, some men in one of the formations. Includes some close shots of skiers' legs. Men on water skis perform jumps using ramp; one ditches his skis and goes into a dive, diving into the water; pretty cool.
