Senator William Saxbe
General views of a small press conference with Senator William Saxbe of Ohio. The topic of the conference is the possible impeachment of president Richard Nixon. Segment begins with the Senator standing at a podium talking to the press. Shot of four teens listening to the senator. They look unamused, but probably figured it was a good way to get out of going to school. There are two males and two females. They all are wearing glasses and have that wonderful 1970's look about them. CU of Senator as he stands in front of a wildly colored floral print curtain. Senator Saxbe states that there will most likely be an impeachment trial for Nixon. He goes on to answer questions with questions.
Childrens' Fair
Segment begins with a young girl milking a cow for the very first time. A man stands behind her to help out. The girl pulls on the cow's teat and the milk shoots her in the leg. She is a little surprised by this. Two mounted police officers entertain children as they come up to pet the horses. Firefighters allow children to climb all over their fire truck. Adults and children stand in line waiting for their turn. CU of a chubby faced kid with curly hair holding on to a balloon. The wooded park has been retrofitted to accomidate people with physical disabilities. The segment begins with a ribbon-cutting dedication ceremony. The honors is given to a young woman in a wheelchair. The woman wheels herself down the newly paved trail. Another woman in a wheelchair is behind her. CU of hands reading Braille. Interview with an elderly man who talks to a reporter about the additions made to the park. As he talks, people are moving along the trail. The man states that a paved trail has been installed for eveyone, especially people with wheelchairs and strollers. He states that each of the trail guides will be printed in both large print and Braille. Shot of reporter (Ed Bates) holding a microphone making his final commentary.

They are interested in keeping commercial buisness out of industrial zones. Camera quickly passes the demonstrators and zooms in on the building they stand in front of. Interview with a Caucasian man who talks about what happens when you allow a commercial buisnesses to enter an industrial belt. The commercial buisness can go to court and force the rezoning of industrial properties for commercial use. Panning shot of factory in the distance. Shot of the Case Brass & Copper Company parking lot. Three men are standing among the parked cars. Camera pulls back to reveal a reporter making his final commentary. He states that the residents want the industry to stay. "Because as they put it, as industry goes-so does our town".
Orchestra Parking
ON Preview Cassette #210906 J Four general views of a parking lot filled with all sorts of cars popular in the early 1970's. Interview with a Caucasian man who talks about creating available parking space for orchestra members. The city has asked people to park elesewhere on days of a scheduled performance or rehearsal. If people do not volunteer to park in a differnt lot, orchestra members will have to park far away and be bused in.
Painesville Telegraph Strike
ON PREVIEW CASSETTE 210906 J Segment begins with a shot of a building indicated as "Local 53" by the sign that hangs over the front door. The camera pulls back to reveal an African-American reporter standing at an intersection. As he speaks, cars are driving behind him. Reporter states that even though Local 53 is on strike, the Painesville Telegraph newspaper has continued publication. He goes on to say that the union has decided to give the paper some local competition by coming up with a publication of their own. Report holds up the newspaper which is entilted "Lake County Today". Shot of a woman standing behind a counter that is piled with newspapers. The woman explains that many local residents had canceled their subscription to the "Telegraph" after they went on strike. The new paper took this opportunity to ask the locals what they would really like to see in a newspaper. The results of the questioning lead to a strictly localized perspective. He goes on to claim that the public should know about what is going on in the lives of political figures. Agnew would have never been penalized or forced to resign if things had not been revealed. (Tax Evasion) The man eventually calls Agnew "A damn liar".
Gas Prices
ON Preview Cassette #210906 J CU of a gasoline pump counting gallons and price. Remember that things were not digital back then, the numbers actually roll to display the sale. Camera pulls back to reveal a reporter leaning up against the pump as he talks about the recent price increase of gasoline. The increase has been aproved, but the public is not very happy. Interview with an African-American man who is seated in the driver's seat of his car. A woman is seated next to him in the passenger seat, a small girl sits the back. The man complains that the price is too high as it is. "Things are high enough, we're paying almost 50 cents now". He goes on to say that if the price is raised even higher, it won't even be worth driving. Interview with a Caucasian buisness-like man speaking from the driver's side window. The man speaks in fragments. Interview with a young Caucasian man who looks like a bad lounge singer or comedian. He claims that another price increase will mean a real bad situation. Interview with a Caucasian woman who is wearing large glasses and has her hair parted down the center of her head. Woman states "As far as I can see, its not warranted. Its terrible". Shot of reporter standing by the gas pump making his final commentary.
Goodyear Fabric Plane
ON PREVIEW CASSETTE 210906 J This segment pertains to an unusual little aircraft that was manufactured by the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company. It is an inflatable plane made from a light rubber material. Its the Inflatoplane. The segment begins with a dedication ceremony taking place in Washington D.C. (After Goodyear discontinued production, the plane was given to the Smithsonian Institution) A deflated plane has been positioned on the lawn located in the National Mall. A man in a white jumpsuit is prepairing to inflate the plane. Shot of a line of men standing on the lawn, the Washington Monument can be seen in the background. Circle Workshop
ON PREVIEW CASSETTE 210906 J This segment pertains to a new workshop facility dedicated to people with mental and physical disabilities. The workshop is intended to help people with disabilities learn skills that will assist them in the workplace. The segment begins with a shot of Mayor Ralph Perk at a ribbon-cutting dedication ceremony. Perk does the honors of cutting the yellow ribbon. Interior shot of a basement looking environment with florescent lighting on the ceiling and no windows. Little work stations are set up about the place and people are busy with activity. CU of one of the stations. The table consists of two Caucasian men and one African-American man. The Caucasian man closest to the camera has Down's syndrome [Down syndrome]. All three men seem to be putting together some sort of pamphlet or type of literature. Shot of an instructional session. There are two tables filled with people and an instructor handing out items. Shot African-American adults playing an old schoolyard type of game. It is almost like jump rope but played with four long wooden sticks. Four people hold the sticks on the ground and move them back and forth. There are four people who stand inside the sticks and jump accordingly.
