Shaky, grainy, dark in contrast and imagery Launch U. S. Liner America's merchant marine gets an addition with the launching of the President Jackson. The 20,000 ton vessel is christened by Mrs. Alben Barkley. Requisitioned by the Navy while under construction and completed as a troop transport for use in the Korean War. Renamed U.S.S. BARRETT (T-AP 196). Continued in Navy service until transferred to the Maritime Administration in March 1973. Loaned to New York State Maritime College 1973 and renamed EMPIRE STATE V, later EMPIRE STATE.

Shaky, grainy, dark in contrast and imagery Young Girl Canonized A Saint - Maria Goretti Maria Goretti, the twelve-year-old girl who died in 1902 while defending her virtue is canonized as the Martyr Of Purity in a ceremony presided over by Pope Pius. Choked and stabbed to death during a rape attempt on 6 July 1902 at the age of 12 . While in prison for his crime, Allessandro had a vision of Maria. He saw a garden where a young girl, dressed in white, gathered lilies. She smiled, came near him, and encouraged him to accept an armful of the lilies. As he took them, each lily transformed into a still white flame. Maria then disappeared. This vision of Maria led to Alessandro's conversion, and he later testified at her cause for beatification. Canonized 1950 by Pope Pius XII the ceremony was attended by 250,000 including her mother, the only time a parent has witnessed her child's canonization

Boys and girls together, they look natty in their new vacation fashions. As the college girls get off the plane they are wearing dresses, coats and hats. The college men are wearing suits and one college is sporting a hat. On the beach a couple runs toward the camera they have matching shirts and bathing suits. On the golf course the guys are wearing Bermuda Shorts. After five attire the men are in white dinner jackets, bow tie and the one guy is still wearing the straw hat. One of the guys has a plaid tie and cumber bun to match. Here comes the ladies dressed in long evening gowns.

Can The Canadian Hockey Team Repeat The Win?

The English Governor General of Canada, Lord Stanley of Preston, was so impressed with hockey that in 1892 he bought a silver bowl with an anterior gold finish and decreed that it be given each year to the best amateur team in Canada. That trophy, of course, has come to be known as the Stanley Cup and is awarded today to the franchise that wins the National Hockey League playoffs. MLS The two teams are on the ice playing hockey.
