The start of the annual 80-mile race staged in the English Channel by the English Motor Boat Drivers. MS - At times these boats are traveling at 50 MPH, with some of them becoming airborne for a few seconds. MS - Sea is very choppy and the pilots of the boats at times have a hard time hanging on. Medium CUS - Number 8 driven by Sopwith gets the checkered flag declaring him the winner. But as faith would have it, Sopwith was disqualified for missing a buoy and Keith Horseman who piloted Buffins Coffin Number 1 is declared the official winner of the English Channel Race.

John Pennel, a pole vaulter, shows style and grace as he clears the bar at 17 feet. High Angle Shot - Track and field fans applauding John Pennel s pole vaulting skills. At Fort Bragg, North Carolina, the US Army parachute team, "The Golden Knights, put the new Rogallo "Flexwing" parachute through some fancy paces. Spectacular free-fall maneuvers test the 'chute for future military or civilian use. Standing in back of a single engine US Army plane taking off. CUS - Inside the plane, the door is open and there stands an Army skydiver. He jumps out of the plane backwards while looking at the camera. Air to Air - Shot of the Army skydiver free falling, moving his arms as he spins his body "slowly" around. CUS - Bringing in his legs in a bit and moving both arms forward as he does a summersault (somersault) while free falling, He spins one way and does a reverse spin. CUS - Moving his arms and legs into another position. He manages to do a backwards summer sault. Low Angle Shot - The skydiver slowly descends with his new 'Flexwing' opened. It's a very standard type of chute used by today's jumpers. His landing is on-spot perfect.

The annual Monterey County Sheriff's Rodeo in Salinas, California brings out the best of the bronco-busting, bull-riding set. For a finale, the mad bareback riders stampede, and the field is full of wild broncos and scrambling riders! Every third week in July, cowboys and fans attend the traditional rodeo competitions, bull riding and other rodeo related events that are held. High Angle Shot - The rodeo stadium is packed with police officers and rodeo fans. MS - First gate opens and a cowboy comes out on a bucking bronco. The ride does not last too long before the cowboy is picking himself up off the ground. MS - Another cowboy, another bronco and another fall. MS - Fans in the stands enjoying the show. MS - It's bull riding time, and this bull is ornery and the cowboy is thrown off the bull's back. Medium CUS - Another bull comes out of the gate, but this bull has a very determined cowboy sitting on his back. He is determined to stay on the bull, but the bull is just as determined to get the cowboy off his back. In time, the bull shakes him off. Medium Wide Shot - They open the gates to a lot of cowboys riding bucking broncos.
